Austin Cesear – Cruise Forever
PUBINF005
RELEASED : 30th July 2012
400 pressing x LP / Digital
Since February’s Ekoplekz EP, Public Information have been toiling behind closed doors, the cold Spring rain outside, working to bring you new voices, new sounds for the six-months ahead and beyond.
To kick off this run we present Austin Cesear, here with his first ever release. An LP shaped on the West Coast of America… a Bay Area Backdrop.
Welcome to Cruise Forever.
Not a great deal is known about Austin himself, but that matters not, these ten tracks tell us much.
From the strobing synth arcs and cosmic-pulse of opener “Cloud Hall” to the narcotic, dubwise-nod of album closer “Travellers Of Faith”, Cruise Forever represents an innovative, exhilarating ride, loaded with twists, turns and trips from the ‘floor to the comedown.
Claustrophobic Chi-town melancholy (“The Groove”), hard-Brum-meets-Berghain techno (“The Beast”) and the massive nine-minute vocal rush of “Shut In” are where the dance-floor moments collide: raw, expressive, euphoric moments in the Sun and the Dark.
Then we shift toward stranger more insular climes… A fractured middle-east sampledelia (“Peralta Palace”) lonely walks through the gloaming (“Forest Forever”, “Mountain Ascension”) and soaring climbs into clipped, watery electronics, (“In The Depths…”)
This is a special record from a bold, young producer. A Public Information Guarantee ©.
